FAQ's

Everything we know that we thought you might want to know...

Q:  How Long is the travel time from Manila to Mount Pinatubo?
A:  The average travel time is 2hrs and 30 mins from Manila to Sta. Juliana (Jump off point) via NLEX in a
private car on a favorable traffic condition. It's advisable to aim for a 7:00am arrival at Sta. Juliana to allow
for registration, quick fix up and an early start for a cooler ride and trek to the crater.

Q:  Where do we eat breakfast?
A:  We usually eat breakfast during a quick stop over at Capas, Tarlac at a 24-hour fast food joint.  You may
opt to bring your favorite home-cooked meal, provided you will share with the rest of the group (kidding)

Q:  How about Lunch?
A:  Under normal itinerary and circumstances, you would be at the crater already during lunch time.  We usually
provide packed lunch for our regular package. You may opt to bring your own or buy along the way (most
likely fast food). If you signed up for a no-lunch package, it's your responsibility to remember to bring your
own. Please note that there are limited, if at all, food stores at the jump off (Sta. Juliana).

Q:  What Should I wear?
A:  We should say whatever you are most comfortable in. However, bear in mind that you would be walking
for more or less 3 hours on rugged wet and dry terrain, so your good ol' faded jeans are definitely out.
      Our suggestions: Quick-drying short/long pants, quick-drying shirt, a cap/hat and sunglasses/shades.
Avoid cotton apparels as they absorb and retain lots of water.

Q:  What about Footwear?
A:  Trekking shoes is the best option. They offer good ventilation, comfort and built tough for extreme
conditions. If you don't have one, a strapped sandals with good traction grip and made from sturdy
materials is the next best thing. It dries easily but offer less feet protection as the trekking shoes. Just one
      more thing: NO FLIP-FLOPS PLEASE.

Q:  What are the things I NEED to bring?
A:  Pack Light. However, there are a few things you should not go without:
      1.  Trail Water - be sure you have enough that you can carry to last you trough the whole adventure.
      2.  Trail/emergency Food - You'll need all the energy you can get. Trust me on this.
      3.  Cash - It makes the world go round.
      4.  Personal Medication - Especially if you are allergic or prone to motion sickness/upset stomach.
      5.  Sunscreen/Sunblock - Protect that lovely skin.
      6.  Small  & Light Backpack - To put items 1 to 5, while freeing your hands. Travel bags = No-no.

Q:  Can I bring additional things?
A:  Sure you can, but remember that you have to carry all the things you will be bringing going up, as well as going down. Here are a list of things you may, or may not bring:
       1.  Light jacket - for occasional chill
       2.  Poncho/umbrella - for unexpected downpour.
       3.  Trekking pole - for, err...trekking?
       4.  Spare clothes
       5.  Swimsuit - if you're planning on taking a dip at the lake.
       6.  Scarf or really big hankie - can be used as dust protection, sun shade, whatever.
